Web design in Abu Dhabi, built to survive procurement.

Abu Dhabi work tends to carry more scrutiny than most. Accessibility obligations, documentation, handover, and a review process with several people in it. We build for that rather than around it.

What web design Abu Dhabi projects usually involve.

These are the sectors that actually drive Abu Dhabi. The work looks different in each one, which is why we do not quote from a template.

Government and public bodies

Accessible, well-structured sites where a citizen has to find one specific thing quickly, and where the obligation is set externally rather than by preference.

Energy and industry

Corporate sites for organisations whose website is read by regulators, partners and investors as much as by customers.

Healthcare

Clinic and provider sites with careful handling of anything patient-adjacent, and booking that does not quietly collect more than it should.

Education and research

Institutional sites with deep content structures, faculty and programme listings, and publishing that non-technical staff can run.

Culture and heritage

Museums, foundations and cultural programmes where the content is the product and the archive has to stay navigable.

Construction and infrastructure

Project portfolios, tender documentation and capability sites for firms bidding on work that gets checked properly.

Where Abu Dhabi projects usually start.

Almost nobody arrives asking for a website. They arrive with one of these, and the website turns out to be part of the answer.

An accessibility obligation with a date on it. A requirement has been set and the current site will not meet it. Most of the work is contrast, focus and heading structure, and it is less than the audit implies.

A handover nobody documented. The previous supplier finished and left nothing written down. Everything still works until the first change is needed.

A procurement process that stalled. Three suppliers quoted three different things because the brief was open to interpretation. Tightening it is quicker than re-running the whole exercise.

The maths Abu Dhabi businesses are doing.

Procurement in Abu Dhabi asks harder questions than most markets. Who owns the code. What happens at handover. Whether the site meets accessibility criteria. Whether documentation exists or lives in one person’s head.

Those are reasonable questions and we would rather answer them in the proposal than in a meeting later. Everything is built to published standards, handed over with written documentation, and left in a state another supplier could take on without a rebuild.

How a project here actually runs.

The practical detail, so you know what you are agreeing to before anyone quotes.

What sets the timeline. Approvals. Several people usually need to sign off, and that is reasonable. Naming one person who can make the final call is the single biggest accelerator.

What to have ready. Any accessibility conformance level you must meet, your procurement documentation requirements, and the current site’s hosting access.

What we push back on. Leaving accessibility until an audit. It is far cheaper designed in, and retrofitting focus states and heading structure is tedious work.

What happens after launch. Written documentation, a walkthrough for whoever will maintain it, and everything in your organisation’s name rather than ours.

Web design Abu Dhabi — questions answered.

Do you meet accessibility requirements?

We build to the W3C WCAG criteria as standard rather than as an add-on: contrast, keyboard operation, visible focus, proper heading structure and real form labels. Where a specific conformance level is required, say so at scoping and we will document against it.

Can you work with our procurement process?

Yes. We are used to written scopes, staged approvals and documented handover. What speeds it up most is naming one person who can approve decisions, because the slow part is rarely the build.

Are you based in Abu Dhabi?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. BLAC-M is registered in Dubai, an hour and a half up the road, on the same time zone and the same working week. Delivery is remote and meetings happen when you need them.

What happens to the site after launch?

It is yours, documented, on hosting in your name. Support is a separate arrangement so you can choose the level of cover rather than being locked into a retainer you did not ask for.

Can you provide documentation for our records?

Yes, and it is part of every handover rather than an extra. It covers how the site is built, how to edit it, and what maintenance it needs, written for someone who was not on the project.

Do you work with our existing suppliers?

Frequently. Where another firm handles hosting, brand or content we work to their constraints, and we would rather agree the boundaries in writing at the start than discover them later.
